HCD.9:0.1 - Working Terms

Name in this patternWhat it denotes
focused-practice episodeOne bounded attempt–feedback–correction–retry loop directed at a named action, criterion, error, or discrimination in a representative task.
practice focusThe specific action or relation the learner is trying to change or stabilize, rather than a topic name or global judgement of the person.
first attemptThe learner’s initial response under recorded task, time, support, source, tool, AI, and provider conditions. It may be supported or independent; the conditions determine the claim.
changeable actionAn observable selection, explanation, calculation, check, request, refusal, adaptation, enactment, or correction on which feedback can bear.
feedback contributionInformation supplied to the learner about the task, criterion, current result, error, or next action, with a provider, time, form, and opportunity to use it. A score or praise alone may not supply an actionable contribution.
correctionThe learner’s response to feedback: revised reasoning, action, work product, check, request, or explanation. A provider’s replacement answer is not the learner’s correction.
retryA subsequent attempt on the affected requirement, normally with enough changed condition to expose rule use when discrimination or adaptation matters.
focused-practice episode resultThe preserved first attempt, support received, observation, feedback, correction, retry or unresolved difficulty, qualification, and next practice focus.

In this pattern, deliberate practice names this focused and feedback-connected working move. It does not denote a universal dose, hours threshold, causal package, or promise of expertise across domains.
