MKT.3:4.4 - Make the invitation and its receiving work usable

Specify one proportionate next action and what follows it. Explain the information actually needed, an attainable way to provide it, the expected effort and timing, and who will respond. Provide an appropriate way to decline or defer. Do not request sensitive working material in a public reply when an agreed protected means is needed for the next stage.

Arrange the receiving contribution before distributing the invitation: the responsible person, access to the necessary information, capacity, and a fallback when the proposed next step cannot occur. A message promising a consultation needs available consultations. If only a later place is available, state that timing and let the recipient decide whether it is still useful.

Test the response path in the form the recipient will encounter. An inaccessible form, missing appointment or unexplained account requirement can defeat an otherwise suitable message. MKT.4 develops the subsequent choice and acquisition; this method must at least make the offered transition possible.
