OPS.13:8 - Common Anti-Patterns and How to Avoid Them
| Misuse | Working repair |
| Turn a historical service forecast into a promise without agreement. | Recover the recipient, conditions and commitment authority, then test the receiving use. |
| Add nominal hours while the required skill is unavailable. | Use the time in which all required resources and conditions obtain together. |
| Count reserve twice, as both normal work capacity and protection against repeats. | Show the sequence and load for the actual normal and adverse cases. |
| Treat a planning update as release from an existing promise. | Obtain the authorized parties’ decision and retain any unresolved obligation. |
| Count a narrower result as the promised outcome. | Keep test, customer acceptance, review decision and field release distinct wherever the service depends on them. |
