HCD.16:8 - Common Anti-Patterns and How to Avoid Them
Anti-pattern
Better move
“A newer paper replaces the Method.”
Name the exact source-to-claim row and reopen only the use that consumes the changed claim.
“The tool changed, so this is a new Method variant.”
Compare reusable semantics and return description, support, tool, or local-Work changes to their direct owner.
“The candidate worked locally, so adopt it.”
Preserve candidate status and return Method admission, fit and worth to ME; HCD decides only its bounded evidence use.
“Assisted scores improved, so learning occurred.”
Preserve assisted-performance evidence and withhold the unsupported human-learning claim. Obtain the particular independent, changed-support, transfer or retention evidence only for a selected stronger use when the inquiry is feasible and worthwhile.
“One subgroup failed, so retire the Method everywhere.”
Branch or retire only the defeated population, condition, or use and preserve supported uses.
“Refresh the whole publication after every source change.”
Reopen the affected claim; use G.11 only for a maintained currentness object under its own conditions.
