Management DPF Suite

First Suite edition.

Management connects direction, commitments, provision and performance so that a collective undertaking can make and sustain promises under actual conditions. The undertaking can be a business, public service, temporary collaboration or voluntary community. A shared employer is unnecessary; the contributions, authority and resources on which others rely must have an actual basis.

Use this Suite when an attractive direction, an accepted promise and available means do not yet fit together, or a changed condition calls for a different commitment. A sufficient existing arrangement, smaller promise or justified refusal can be the useful result.

When an organization or another established system is the subject of change, management can change its functioning by arranging current Work, authority, resources and commitments while retaining its organization chart. That is an engineering contribution without a separate organization-redesign project. For a voluntary community or temporary collaboration, first establish what system and whole, if any, are being changed. OCE develops the deliberate organization-change contribution, while the other management fields retain their own subjects. Management is the organizational specialization of engineering described by this Suite; the broader Engineering edition connects to it without repeating OCE in its direct roster.

Read the whole and its constituents

The Management DPF Suite Architectural Reference explains the field, the relations among its twelve constituent languages, alternatives, limits and returns to external suppliers. Its voluntary practice network (Management.Reference:5.1) and operating-business order (Management.Reference:5.2) show different connected uses. These cases illustrate the architecture; they do not define the Suite’s coverage.

The constituent DPFs provide the full Methods, cases and source grounds:

Use CUST.1 for the connected work from client differences to a maintainable local or repeatable answer. Its constituent Methods can also be applied directly: an offering-family question, a repeated-delivery question and a transition for existing clients need not start a complete new customization programme.

Patterns counts the complete pattern bodies in each linked DPF. Text, M characters gives the size of its full Markdown file, including its embedded Reference and supporting sections, in millions of Unicode characters (1 M = 1,000,000), with spaces and original line breaks included and values rounded to three decimals.

OCE connects the construction of organizational relations to feasible commitments and has its complete home in this Suite. Maintenance Engineering and Management (MNT) connects maintained functioning to policy, support and the service programme; its complete language is in the Engineering DPF Suite. A manager may apply those Methods directly when capable, or obtain a qualified result. The Reference explains organizational construction and maintenance use (Management.Reference:3.1), including why these two complete fields have different direct homes.

A known sufficient Method can be used directly. Corporate Governance and Corporate Finance retain their corporate conditions; other settings need their applicable governing and financial practice. Participation in this Suite does not make every constituent necessary for every undertaking. The Reference states the coverage limits and continuity conditions (Management.Reference:7).

Use the Human Capability Engineering DPF Suite when a person’s capability must develop. Learning, coaching and organizing a team’s work can contribute to the same undertaking while addressing different subjects; a provider’s professional title does not decide which result is needed.

Use Using FPF and its DPF Suites for search and connected reading, FPF Core for common meanings and general Methods, and the FPF Library Architectural Reference for the relation of this Suite to the rest of the Library. Full external suppliers remain necessary when their contribution is used; a copy of this folder alone does not contain them.
