Framework Boundary and Refresh

Intended use and ordinary non-use

Use this repertoire to qualify a research question, answer a current design-allocation question, make the selected inquiry operational, recover actual material, examine its claim, select relevant credibility work, synthesize its corpus, return the exact knowledge revision, or retain or improve a research Method. Enter from the actual missing contribution with compatible supplied inputs.

Do not use it as a generic literature-search guide, research-administration manual, ethics or safety process, ready-to-run domain protocol, statistics handbook, domain measurement guide, publication checklist, evidence hierarchy, funding rule, or authority for the receiving decision. It does not establish that Work occurred or a claim became true.

Judge the connected result

The practical entries are recognition aids. Correct use requires the reasons and conditions in the complete bodies. Inherit the RMP.1 checklist for a passing brief, the RMP.2 checklist for a design disposition, the RMP.3 checklist for operationalization, the RMP.4 checklist for the trace, the RMP.5 checklist for analysis and claim criticism, the RMP.6 checklist for the credibility decision, the RMP.7 checklist for synthesis and the RMP.8 checklist for revision/return and the RMP.9 checklist for Method retention or change. For the contributions actually combined, also examine their connection:

Substantive questionA usable answer and its return when absent
Does the design answer the same bounded question for the same receiver and useful stop?Show the brief positions used by the comparison. Requalify a changed question; obtain an unresolved material, population, context, or source relation instead of assuming compatibility.
Does the completion concern sufficient evidence or the present allocation with insufficient evidence?Preserve the adequate answer for EvidenceSufficientStop, or the bounded answer and no-new-study reason for QualifiedNoNewStudy. A missing result holds only the selection it prevents; resource and authority decisions retain their owners.
Can the chosen strategy expose the criticism demand, including the dependence and disagreement of any components?Name the defeating or narrowing result and the shared assumptions. Apply the whole-combination conditions when several Methods contribute.
For a design selection still needed, could remaining values alone or jointly change the family, criticism, feasibility or refusal?Return ResearchDesignHold when those values prevent that selection. Only an actually selected design can retain invariant PostSelectionNeed. A completed QualifiedNoNewStudy answer keeps its evidence limit without turning it into an acquisition.
Do the operational choices still support the selected question and criticism?Follow one consequential observation or source choice through the whole arrangement. Name a blocked action or return a defeated premise under RMP.3; do not hide a changed design in protocol detail.
Does the receiving examination have the actual material and access it needs?Use RMP.4 to distinguish plans, conduct, reconstruction, transformations and loss. State the particular examinations still supported and those prevented.
Does the analysis warrant the proposed claim under its Method?RMP.5 follows the material-to-claim connection and retains consequential choices, contrary material, uncertainty and unsupported stronger uses.
Does the credibility examination address the actual threat, and is it obtainable and worthwhile?RMP.6 compares the meaningful result with the whole arrangement, preserves a useful no-new-test answer, and distinguishes selection from actual performance.
Does the corpus answer preserve the question, source dependence and warranted transformation?RMP.7 distinguishes independent support, compatible synthesis, context and missing material. A refusal states the narrower supported result.
Does the revision concern the same assertion and reach the actual use that needs it?RMP.8 reconciles affected claims, preserves uncertainty and returns the permitted correction through its responsible owner.
Does the Method decision address the actual subject and change only its dependent use?RMP.9 separates supported retention, bounded correction, worthwhile evidence acquisition and restricted use; RMP.5/RMP.8 or another actual consumer receives only the consequential return.
What has actually been returned, and what can the receiver do with it now?Identify the supplied answer, brief, design disposition, operational specification, limited trace, bounded claim/criticism, credibility decision and actual test result when one exists, corpus synthesis, exact knowledge revision and return, or supported Method retention or change. The receiving action still needs its own criteria and authority.

These questions test the present result; counting completed rows does not establish that evidence exists or that Work occurred. A direct use of RMP.2 with a compatible supplied brief needs no second RMP.1 record. When one premise changes, revisit the result and combinations that rely on it while retaining unaffected work.

Bias and the reach of these examples

The seal and stream cases foreground engineering evidence and observable anomalies; the historical and interpretive contrast prevents controlled experiment from becoming the implicit model of every inquiry. The Method-correction case additionally exposes the difference between implementation repair, Method qualification and a changed receiving claim. Together these cases make important branch and loss decisions recognizable, but they are constructed cases, not field validation of the repertoire. RMP.2 compares unlike design families, RMP.3 preserves their operational differences, RMP.4 relates actual material to the intended examination, and RMP.5/RMP.6 connect method-appropriate criticism and testing to the bounded claim. These contributions do not provide each family’s complete professional practice or establish equal coverage of every research tradition.

The requirement for a named receiving use can make a sponsor’s decision too prominent. The receiver may instead need a bounded explanation or corpus contribution; immediate commercial, policy, or operational action is not required. Keep rival accounts capable of changing the favored answer, and distinguish a sponsor’s preference from the criticism demand. The RMP.1 bias account and RMP.2 bias account address status, activity, favourite-Method, tool and authority drift. RMP.3 adds operational selection and researcher-position questions; RMP.4 adds retrospective reconstruction, unrecorded exclusions and access consequences. RMP.5 and RMP.6 address interpretive overreach, technique prestige, repetition and acquisition bias. RMP.7 adds corpus selection and source-dependence limits; RMP.8 adds wider model reliance and receiving-use limits. RMP.9 adds novelty, easy-metric, compulsory-acquisition and unsupported-retention risks.

Applying the same membership conditions does not give every group the same resources or access. Community access, specialist competence, funds, archive rights, or a safe sampling window can determine what can actually be done. Preserve those conditions as concrete results and constraints. Bounded communicability requires a critic to recover the reasoning; it does not demand public release of protected records or convert an institutional template into the only acceptable trace.

Failures at the connection between the patterns

Consequential misreadingPractical correction
A passing ResearchQuestionBrief is treated as approval to begin the favored test.Use RMP.2 to justify the design and obtain the actual owner results. The brief establishes the epistemic question, not permission or a selected strategy.
The brief, design, protocol or trace looks complete, but its question, source frame, material or receiving use differs from the contribution it relies on.Compare the shared premises at the connection and return the changed question or missing compatibility result. Individually detailed accounts do not repair the mismatch.
Every component of a mixed design is feasible, so the combination is declared feasible.Check shared capacity, burdens, access windows, and the integration claim for the whole set, as in the twelve-day example.
A missed comparison is carefully recorded but the original claim remains unchanged.Preserve the loss and return the defeated design premise. The trace can support a narrower examination without restoring absent evidence.
A final reconstructed protocol is called a prospective commitment.Preserve the actual evidential basis and timing. A useful reconstruction cannot establish an earlier decision that its sources do not support.
A public summary is treated as equivalent to the protected original for every criticism.State which examination each available view supports; obtain permitted access or narrow the receiving use.
A repeated computation is treated as evidence that the model is adequate for any field use.Preserve the computational result and examine the claimed model-to-field relation under RMP.5/RMP.6.
A selected credibility test is treated as an actual result.Preserve the decision, actual performance and returned evidence as different facts.
A corpus count is treated as independent corroboration or unlike results as one magnitude.RMP.7 recovers contributions and the justified transformation before synthesis.
A correction changes the event or leaves a dependent model claim unqualified.RMP.8 matches the assertion and reconciles its actual dependent uses.
A selected Method trial is treated as a qualified improvement, or its cost makes unsupported use appear adequate.RMP.9 keeps acquisition worth, performed evidence and Method adequacy separate. Restrict the unsupported use and preserve the affected claim’s limit.

Practical consequences and revision

The arrangement can save a study, give a team a defensible research direction, identify one missing external result, or return a claim whose support and limits are clear. It also makes routine qualification and monitoring easier to recognize and continue under their own Methods. The work required depends on the live question: reuse adequate source, design and analytical results; obtain only the additional contribution that warrants its arrangement. Operational choices and timely records can preserve an otherwise lost comparison. Analysis can narrow an unsupported explanation, and a relevant credibility examination can change its support. Corpus synthesis can distinguish genuine joint support from repeated or incompatible material; exact revision makes that result usable without hiding its limits. Method improvement can retain adequate practice or correct its implementation; a changed Method or situation can justify a further comparison and a precise return to its actual research consumer. These contributions earn their cost through the distinction they preserve or the uncertainty they can change.

Reconsider a particular use when the question, receiver, source frame, live rivals, mechanism, measure, access, resource envelope, or authority changes. Reconsider the repertoire’s shared architecture when repeated cases cannot distinguish ordinary practice from research with its four conditions, when an unlike design is systematically misrouted, or when the nine Methods cannot produce their promised bounded results without silently borrowing an absent or unqualified external result. Preserve the failed case and the missing contribution so that revision addresses the difficulty. The source-currentness account states the source changes that reopen the relied-on methodological claims.

A new version can improve any contribution or its connections. Wider disciplinary coverage requires the corresponding Methods and evidence. The present examples show how to obtain bounded results; they do not establish that the framework improves outcomes in every setting or that a selected study will yield the desired answer.

PatternID and reader order

RMP.* is the Research Method Practice namespace. Pattern numbers are stable addresses. The public Table of Contents includes only authoritative bodies available in this carrier.

Part I groups RMP.1/RMP.2 for question and design; Part II groups RMP.3/RMP.4 for operationalization and research trace; Part III groups RMP.5/RMP.6 for claim analysis and credibility work; Part IV groups RMP.7/RMP.8 for corpus synthesis and exact revision/return; Part V supplies RMP.9 for Method improvement and retention. An ambiguous request can begin with RMP.1; compatible supplied inputs permit direct entry to RMP.2 or RMP.3. RMP.4 also admits existing work and can begin capture before a final protocol or claim exists. Supplied material and analysis permit direct RMP.5 entry; a bounded claim, basis, use and threat permit direct RMP.6 entry. RMP.7 accepts a compatible synthesis question, design and trace; RMP.8 accepts actual analysis, criticism or synthesis for the identified account and receiving use. RMP.9 accepts an actual Method difficulty or changed research use and tries the supported present answer before further comparison. Neither reader order nor an arrow asserts performed Work, a universal sequence or compulsory continuation.

Available repertoire and scope

ContributionPatternIDsAvailable result and scope
Question, current frame, and design/stopRMP.1–RMP.2An exact source/owner answer or research question, then EvidenceSufficientStop, ResearchDesignDecision with genuine PostSelectionNeed, ResearchDesignHold or QualifiedNoNewStudy for the current selection.
Operationalization and traceRMP.3–RMP.4Question-preserving operationalization or an exact obstacle/return, and a trace for its named examination with explicit limitations. These results come from their respective Methods, not from design selection alone.
Analysis, criticism, and credibilityRMP.5–RMP.6A bounded claim with method-appropriate criticism, and a relevant credibility decision with interpretation of an actual test result when supplied. Either can finish the present question.
Synthesis, episteme revision, and evidence returnRMP.7–RMP.8A warranted corpus answer, including an adequate existing synthesis or useful refusal, and an exact knowledge revision with its bounded receiving return.
Research Method and practice improvementRMP.9Supported retention, correction or change for the named research use, or a restricted/stopped unsupported use. Relevant Method Engineering and field contributions retain their own scope.

This first edition contains all nine RMP patterns. A complete repertoire provides their Methods, not the case-specific evidence, competence or authority needed to use them. A missing external contribution remains a precise limitation on the dependent result.

Direct result relations and non-lifecycle topology

  • RMP.1:4.3 applies F.1, F.0.1 and A.10 to the receiving question and available source texts. The result is an answer with its source basis and limitations. A suitable supplied answer permits direct use.
  • RMP.1:4.3.2 compares alternatives when their differences could change the answer. F.1 guides source selection; a claim about the best-known current answer also uses E.8’s SoTA distinctions. The comparison can narrow the question, supply a sufficient answer or identify what remains to be investigated.
  • RMP.1 supplies RMP.2 only on its passing branch. Supplied-answer, non-research, and source-gap branches exit.
  • RMP.2 can finish with EvidenceSufficientStop or QualifiedNoNewStudy, or identify the selection held by a missing result. Only ResearchDesignDecision or a compatible supplied selected design supports RMP.3.
  • RMP.3 connects the selected question/design to operational choices and record needs. A blocked operation, defeated design or changed question returns to its exact owner.
  • RMP.4 admits ongoing or inherited work directly. Its trace connects actual records and changes to the named examination, without requiring a final claim or a new prospective protocol.
  • Operational choices can guide capture; actual loss or changed conduct can reopen the dependent design or question. Neither connection requires a fixed sequence.
  • RMP.5 examines the claim through supplied actual material and its Method. It can return the bounded answer directly or a precise defeated premise.
  • RMP.6 enters with a bounded claim, basis, use and threat. It can use an existing result, select useful attainable testing, finish with a qualified answer without it, or return the input that prevents selection.
  • RMP.7 uses a compatible supplied question/design and trace to appraise and synthesize the corpus. Its dependence, compatibility and source limits remain part of the answer.
  • RMP.8 accepts actual analysis, criticism or synthesis to revise the same identified contribution and return it to its actual use. Earlier direct answers remain sufficient when no broader reconciliation is needed.
  • RMP.9 enters with a Method difficulty or changed research use. Its supported retention or change returns only to the affected question, operationalization, material, analysis, credibility, synthesis or knowledge account. An unselected comparison creates no trial result.
  • A changed question, current frame, receiver, or useful stop reopens RMP.1. A changed selection premise reopens RMP.2.

The corporate, citizen, and historical applications take different routes. No route establishes one universal scientific method or mandatory lifecycle.

Source use and currentness

The source question for this repertoire is: Which cross-sector and design-family sources change research membership, allocation, operations and trace, the claim warranted by analysis, the useful examination of a credibility threat, warranted corpus synthesis, exact knowledge revision/return and situated Method improvement or retention?

SourceRole in the available patternsLimit preserved
OECD, Frascati Manual 2015Five-criterion cross-sector R&D comparator for RMP.1.Primarily a statistical R&D methodology; it neither decides truth nor supplies a universal institutional gate. RMP.1 adapts all five criteria explicitly.
UNESCO, Recommendation on Open ScienceHolder-neutral citizen/community participation and plural research actors.Openness is constrained by ethics, safety, rights, confidentiality, security, access, and community authority.
MRC/NIHR, framework for complex interventionsUncertainty-led plural perspectives, non-linear entry/reconsideration, and stopping for RMP.2.Its intervention phases and health scope are not exported as a universal research lifecycle.
O’Brien et al., Standards for Reporting Qualitative ResearchTransparency and flexibility cues for qualitative/reflexive work.A reporting standard is not a design selector or proof of execution.
American Historical Association, Statement on Standards of Professional ConductCareful source use, methods/assumptions, evidence-interpretation relation, bias awareness, and alternative interpretations.Professional standards do not supply one historical claim, archive access, or universal holder requirement.
Cochrane, Handbook for Systematic Reviews of InterventionsQuestion-led eligibility, search, appraisal, and synthesis relation.Intervention-review guidance is not a universal evidence hierarchy or a substitute for a traced qualified corpus.
National Academies, Reproducibility and Replicability in ScienceDistinguishes computational reproduction from new-data replication.Neither move is a universal successor, validation result, robustness result, or decision authority.
SCORE 2026 analytical robustness and replicability studiesConsequential analytical alternatives and explicit comparison criteria in RMP.5/RMP.6.Their social/behavioural sampled fields, rates and tolerance conventions are not universal claim thresholds.
Flake and Fried, Measurement Schmeasurement, and Goos et al., measurement reliability, validity and reporting, 2026Methodological candidate and bounded failure evidence for connecting construct, measure, administration and context in RMP.3, then locating the actual use in RMP.4.Reporting and reuse do not establish validity in the present context; Many Labs findings are not a universal research failure rate.
Lakens, Sample Size JustificationQuantitative information/precision rationale tied to the question and dependence, rather than an unexplained sample count.A resource-limited design can remain insufficient; numerical planning and unlike qualitative/source-critical adequacy retain their applicable Methods.
SPIRIT 2025 and COS TOP 2025Consequential protocol detail and distinct timed registration, protocol and analysis intentions.Trial reporting is not design-quality appraisal; a label does not establish a prospective commitment or require universal freezing.
Haven et al., qualitative preregistration Delphi study, and Braun and Clarke, RTARG and reviewInformative starting commitments with method-appropriate evolution; a correction to treating generic reporting or coder agreement as universally appropriate.Neither consensus nor the reflexive-TA critique validates one procedure for every qualitative tradition.
Rethlefsen et al., PRISMA-SSearch-version, source/platform/date and retrieval transparency for an actual trace.Search reporting does not perform search, appraisal or synthesis; the supplied review question and qualified Methods govern those acts.
Miske et al., Investigating reproducibility, 2026, and Workflow Run RO-CrateFailure evidence and an implementation example for the particular input–transformation–run–output connection. The study concerns papers from 2009–2018 and obtainable datasets. A provenance format is optional and supplies neither scientific truth nor a performed reproduction test.
Carroll et al., Operationalizing CARE and FAIRA correction to openness-only reasoning: actual data authority, purpose, access and the criticism each view permits.CARE retains its Indigenous data-governance basis; FAIR is not identical to open access, and a policy does not establish inspectability.
European Commission, responsible generative AI use in research, third edition, May 2026Proportionate records of research-shaping AI contributions and the responsible person’s verification and decisions.Non-binding guidance distinguishes substantial contribution from routine editing; retained outputs do not guarantee service replay or authorize disclosure.
Cochrane chapters 5, 10, 12, 13 and 15Reports/studies, quantitative combination and alternatives, missing contributions and bounded interpretation in RMP.7/RMP.8.A model must fit its quantity and dependence; intervention-review guidance supplies neither a universal hierarchy nor a receiving decision.
Cochrane chapter 21, GRADE-CERQual and JBI mixed synthesis §8.3Context-preserving qualitative synthesis, finding-level confidence and question-relative integration or separate synthesis.A confidence judgment is of its stated kind; transformed findings retain their source meaning and losses. These Methods do not turn an interpretation into prevalence.
Morris, White and Crowther, simulation-study design; Williams et al., simulation transparency; Pawel et al., failures and non-convergenceAim, estimand, generating situations, performance, uncertainty and consequential failures for a selected RMP.9 comparison. The established design anchor and newer reporting work do not select a study, supply its result or establish general Method superiority.

Currentness was checked for the inherited question/design uses on 4 September 2026, for the operationalization/trace methodological comparison on 6 September 2026, for the analytical and credibility distinctions on 8 September 2026, and for the synthesis and revision contributions on 8 September 2026. The Method-improvement source comparison is qualified on 8 September 2026 at its stated statistical, reflexive and historical reach; its Method Engineering stopping and acquisition contribution was rechecked on 9 September 2026. A later edition number alone reopens nothing. Reopen the affected source claim when a new source changes a criterion, family-specific criticism, participation boundary, or use limit; when a cited current web source changes the relied-on content; or when a serious omitted alternative can change an RMP disposition.

Sources are selected by answer-changing role, not citation count. Pattern-body SoTA sections state the exact mutation and serious alternative. Domain sources still govern the actual failure mechanism, salinity measure, historical source, instrument, safety condition, or other claim at issue.

What the sources contribute to the shared architecture

The question/design foundation connects two source questions. Frascati supplies an explicit cross-sector comparison for deciding whether Work is research; UNESCO’s participation account prevents that comparison from becoming an affiliation gate. RMP.1 adapts the criteria to a bounded, criticism-ready contribution, including historical and citizen work that need not promise universal generalization or a repeatable event. The criteria and their changes are recoverable in RMP.1’s Frascati comparison. Neither source makes an institutional classification a finding about truth or a study authorization.

For the second question, the MRC/NIHR framework contributes uncertainty-led selection, reconsideration, and stopping. RMP.2 adapts those moves while leaving its health-intervention phases within their source scope. SRQR and the AHA account keep situated interpretation and historical source criticism visible; the Cochrane account makes a synthesis question govern the corpus relation; the National Academies distinction keeps reproduction and replication from becoming interchangeable credibility claims. Together these contributions support comparing what a design can expose instead of ranking method labels. The detailed contribution and serious alternative are in RMP.2’s SoTA account.

This is a methodological synthesis for the pre-study use. It is not evidence that one source supplied the question/design architecture or empirically validated its results. In particular, the PostSelectionNeed counterfactual is the repertoire’s explicit rule for completing selection: it makes the consequence of an unknown value inspectable. The worked holds and selections explain that rule; the cited reporting standards do not certify it.

For operationalization and trace, the selected best-known line is question-relative specification with an inspectable account of actual change and use. Flake/Fried and Lakens make consequential measurement and information choices explicit; SPIRIT supplies bounded specification distinctions and TOP separates timed commitments. Haven and the RTARG critique preserve an approach’s justified evolution while challenging generic checklist use. RMP.3 adapts those contributions to operational choices and precise returns, not to one mandatory protocol.

RMP.4 adapts source-critical, search and run-provenance distinctions to actual material. CARE/FAIR and responsible-AI guidance make data authority, permitted access and substantial human or tool contributions consequential to that account. The applicable owners’ rules determine what can be retained and disclosed; the trace states which examination remains possible. The alternative of preserving and publishing everything can add burden and harm while still omitting a decisive choice. The alternative of keeping only a final methods narrative loses timing and selection. The chosen arrangement accepts selective recording work to preserve those particular distinctions; a competent existing protocol and trace remain the cheaper sufficient route.

For analysis and credibility, SCORE’s distinct examinations make analytical choices, obtainable computation and the comparison criterion consequential. RTARG and AHA preserve unlike interpretive and source-critical warrant. RMP.5/RMP.6 use those contributions to connect a bounded claim, its remaining threat and the test’s possible result; existing adequate analysis and a qualified no-new-test answer can complete the present use.

For corpus synthesis, Cochrane makes dependence, a justified quantitative model, explicit alternatives and missing contributions consequential. Its qualitative guidance and JBI preserve a choice between same-question integration and separately synthesized aspects; CERQual supplies a bounded finding-level confidence approach. AHA source criticism keeps historical dependence and chronology distinct from narrative count. RMP.7 adapts those contributions to the actual research question. RMP.8 combines bounded interpretation with FPF episteme and affected-use relations so that the result changes the exact account and reaches its actual receiver.

For Method improvement, the established statistical simulation-design line and newer transparency and failure-handling work make the selected comparison’s target, performance and limits inspectable. RTARG and AHA preserve interpretation and source-use criteria that a generic benchmark would miss. RMP.9 connects those contributions to a research-specific Method decision, with supported retention, bounded correction and a justified acquisition choice kept distinct. Its Method Engineering source account retains ME.14’s distinction between an adequate current choice and further inquiry selected for its useful obtainable contribution.

The resulting cross-family arrangement is a reasoned synthesis, not an empirically validated universal procedure. A stronger comparison, a changed research use or an observed failure can reopen the affected Method; adding sources without changing an answer is not an improvement by itself.

The retained source dates and scopes matter. Frascati 2015 is a statistical-methodology comparator; the National Academies report supplies particular distinctions; reporting guidance supplies transparency obligations within its field. None is presented as a timeless complete research method. The source-currentness statement above remains the qualification for the claims inherited by this version. A stronger current answer or an observed misrouting reopens the affected claim and its consuming comparison, as described there.

Using FPF for the Source Answer

RMP.1:4.3 shows how to begin with a question and the available material. F.1 helps select sources by their contribution to the answer, F.0.1 recovers a consequential expression’s meaning in its source, and A.10 supplies claim-bound evidence and provenance relations. For a claim about the best-known current answer, E.8:11 supplies the distinctions used to compare the relevant SoTA contributions. The account states what the sources answer and what their conditions or omissions leave unresolved.

A relevant existing answer can be reused after checking that its question, sources and applicability fit. F.0.2 is a conditional contribution for conceptual synthesis in framework authoring. G.2 serves a broader refreshable SoTA pack under its declared frame. RMP.7 supplies research-corpus appraisal and synthesis when that is the task.

FPF C.16 supplies the measurement discipline used when RMP.3 specifies an observation and RMP.4 distinguishes indications, measurement results and derived values. Domain methods supply the instrument and validity knowledge for that measurement.

External result and authority boundaries

Domain practices own phenomena, mechanisms, instruments, measurements, admissible observations, validity criteria, safety, and truth conditions. Method Engineering owns reusable Method identity, repertoire, requirements, architecture, qualification, trial, fit, worth, variants/provenance, and introduction or revision. Operations, audit, evaluation, assurance, acceptance, governance, and institutional administration retain their own results.

Ethics, rights, confidentiality, privacy, security, community control, access, resources, providers, and receiving authorities supply their exact permissions or decisions. RMP may identify that one of those results changes the question or design; it does not issue the result.

Research returns a bounded episteme contribution and relevance to a receiver. It does not choose a maintenance interval, remediation, policy, release, treatment, compliance verdict, employment action, or personal decision.

Public returns to adjoining practice

Use the companion publications when the first result belongs to an adjoining practice. The requested result remains theirs; finding the publication does not establish that the result has been supplied for the current case.

Needed contributionWhere to continue and what to bring back
Recover an answer from existing sources.Start with RMP.1:4.3 in this publication. In the downloaded FPF specification, find ## F.1 - Question-Relative Source Selection, ## F.0.1 - Source-Local Meaning Recovery, and ## A.10 - Evidence Graph Referring: Claim-Bound Evidence and Provenance Graph for their contributing methods. Bring back the answer, sources, applicability and remaining uncertainty relevant to the research question.
Specify or examine the measurement account used by the inquiry. In the downloaded FPF specification, find ## C.16 - Measurement & Metrics Characterization (MM‑CHR). Bring back the measurand, applicable method and model, qualification, value and uncertainty needed for the research use, together with the competent domain or laboratory result.
Identify or improve a reusable research Method, or test its situational fit.Start with Method Engineering ME.1 for the Method being changed; use ME.11 for a trial in representative work and ME.13 for fit or transfer. Bring the research-specific failure, question and criticism requirement. RMP.9 locates the research-practice decision and determines whether a trial is needed.
Engineer the system or arrangement needed to obtain a result.Use Systems Engineering SYSE.1 for the system being changed and SYSE.24 when obtaining arrangements compete. Bring the needed engineering contribution and applicable research constraints; a delivered apparatus is distinct from the research claim it may help test.
Continue routine operating observation or response.Use Operations Management with the supplied variables, response conditions, and operating authority. Return an unexplained mechanism, validity, or transfer question to RMP.1 only if the research conditions become relevant.

Domain-specific instruments, observation admissibility, source authenticity, ethics, rights, safety, and receiving decisions still require their actual competent owners. These public returns locate reusable contributions; they do not replace those case-specific results.

Edition return

Research Method Practice Principles Framework — First Edition designates this Readme, Table of Contents, Preface, five reading Parts, twelve ordinary practical entries, four connected applications, framework boundary and refresh account, and the complete RMP.1–RMP.9 bodies.

The complete accepted nine-pattern repertoire preserves direct entry and useful completion. Disciplinary techniques, case-specific results and receiving decisions retain their actual owners; completeness here does not claim a comprehensive handbook for every research field.
